ethos

Thalia Jewelry collections are released in limited forms, often as singular works. This rarity is deliberate. What is precious should remain so: distinct, unrepeatable, and deeply personal. No two are alike. Designed to be future heirlooms, gathering history as they are passed from one generation to the next.

Born of antiquity & shaped by hand

Thalia Jewelry founder Rachel Clinnick-Barbagelata’s creations emerge as artifacts of another time, an echo of civilizations where beauty and meaning were inseparable. Influenced at an early age by time spent with her father excavating fossil sites or treasure hunting with her mother, she was immersed in antiquity, art and design. These foundations of ancient art and culture are evident in her work with a commitment to refinement, resulting in pieces that feel at once ancient and unmistakably current.

The Process

In Rachel’s San Francisco studio, objects are not simply made, but unearthed. Through a process rooted in craftsmanship, each piece is formed as though it has always existed, waiting to be revealed. Inspired by the ancient worlds of Roman, Byzantine, and Greek history, her work draws from a lineage where adornment was never ornamental alone, but symbolic, imbued with philosophy, ritual, and story. Her studio continues this tradition, creating pieces that hold meaning beyond the visible, inviting a deeper connection between object and wearer.
