Pompeii Collection
The ancient Greeks and Romans adorned themselves with serpent jewelry. In Greece the snake sacred to Asclepius the God of medicine and healing represented rebirth and transformation.
Snake rings worn by women were thought to aid fertility and protect the house and home in ancient Pompeii. Inscriptions blending cultural symbols of protection were often engraved on jewelry offering personal protections to the owner.
